Bell Meadow Day 2020

At the last Bell Meadow Village Association AGM, several of the committee announced that they wished to stand down. Due to the limited attendance at that meeting we were unable to fill the required posts to move forwards, so it was agreed to adjourn until either sufficient volunteers came forward, or we resolve to dissolve the committee.

Before the festive break, I received several expressions of interest and it is therefore necessary to reconvene the AGM in order to try to fill the posts of Secretary, Treasurer and Chairman. After this is done, other roles relating to the organisation of the event can be allocated.

I am therefore giving notice that the BMVA AGM will take place on Friday Feb 7^th at The Queen Victoria. It would be helpful if as many people as possible attend so that we can start to plan this year’s event.

The members resigning from the committee last year are Amanda & Darren Durant, Del Boswell, Ken Rennie and Victoria Nolan. I would like to take this opportunity to thank every single one for their commitment and support to Bell Meadow for many years, some having been involved every year since 2005.

We also wish to canvass ideas for how residents want to see Bell Meadow Day evolve and a survey may be circulated at the AGM. It would be interesting to hear people’s views about the format and whether they would like to see changes this year.

The future of the event depends on community support both with committee members, volunteers and attendees. Personally, I think that we have established a unique event that is the envy of many parishes, but I do believe that it would be healthy for the day to move with the times.
