Go on a bear hunt
Inspired by the popular book ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’, we are encouraging people to put teddy bears in their windows for people to look out for on their one daily exercise outside. This idea originated in New Zealand and has taken off around the world. Come on Woodham Walter we’ve probably all got a Teddy Bear who could wave out of our windows! How many can you find? Will they change positions each day, change outfits… get up to mischief?! ….
Draw a Rainbow
All over the country hand drawn pictures of rainbows are appearing in windows. Not only do these offer a boost of happiness and colour, they provide an activity for families to create and to look for whilst out for their one daily outside exercise session.
Make an Easter Egg
Following on from the same theme as the Rainbow in the Window, with Easter approaching it might be nice to make a seasonal drawing for people to spot. The Explore Essex team have created ‘Virtual Easter Egg Hunt’ for children and adults alike, to share a little seasonal cheer in these unprecedented times.
You can use our colouring and design template to create your own egg-citing Easter egg and share it in your window ready to be spotted by families during their one-hour exercise outing. And when you are out, why not help children to spot and count the eggs in the windows to spread smiles and enjoy Easter in a slightly different way this year. Elevenses with The World of David Walliams
David Walliams is releasing an audio story every day for the next 30 days. They are excellent for all the family to listen to and then why not draw your own illustration to match what you have listened to. https://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/elevenses/
Joe Wicks is doing 30 minute PE sessions on Youtube primarily aimed at children but all the family can join in. You don’t need any specialist equipment or space. There are also lots of workouts aimed at adults including 7 days of sweat, home workouts for seniors and home workouts on chairs.

BBC Bitesize is available for all primary and senior and beyond school children as an extra resource to learning in a fun way.

Jigsaw swap
This could be a welcome distraction for those self-isolating. Certain protocols must be followed to ensure cleanliness is maintained and risk kept to a minimum but guidelines can be given. If this is something that you are interested in email the parish clerk and we will see if this can be coordinated.
Watch a Live Streamed Play from the National Theatre
You can enjoy World Class theatre online for free. The National Theatre has a massive back catalogue of recorded plays and every Thursday it is going to stream one of those plays through u-Tube. https://www.nationaltheatre.org.uk/
